dazzlerockFirst day as a TA. A little...intimidating? I can't believe I'm actually admitting to that.
I spent all afternoon in the library brushing up on my music history. Scott's really thorough. There's a good section on popular music since the turn of the century (which he said I could take a more active role in teaching) but the large chunks right now are classical composers, and following that up is a short unit on opera.
Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, I can handle. Opera? That's gonna be rough. I have my work cut out for me.
Composition is pretty chill, Starsmore is in my class, which is entertaining. I really hope I wasn't projecting, or whatever he calls it. I'd like to keep my complete terror to myself, if at all possible. It was bad enough that Scott saw through me and proceeded to do his best impression of a pep talk.
He's surprisingly good at them. Its...weird. But fitting, since everything about being back here is weird...or maybe, surreal is a better word.
I guess this is what a second chance feels like...
